Kolkata: State Education minister Partha Chatterjee made it clear on Thursday that the state government is working on gainful utilisation of surplus teachers in a number of schools in the state. He also announced that school uniforms for students will be procured through a transparent tender process.”We have found out that in a number of schools there are few students but teachers are in a surplus. This cannot be accepted. Teachers will have to go to those schools where there is a dearth,” Chatterjee said. School Education secretary Manish Jain pulled up some DIs and SIs for placing demand of more uniforms or shoes than was actually required in the schools of the district.
