5 5 5. Nathaniel Clyne (Liverpool) – Click the arrow, right, to see who has been this season’s top right-back! – Clyne has been solid for Liverpool all season arguably the only one of their defenders able to say that about their performances. Looks likely to hold down the right-back spot for England at Euro 2016 in the summer but his club manager, Jurgen Klopp, will be expecting him to improve even more next season once he brings in his own recruits. 3. Danny Simpson (Leicester City) – Released from Manchester United, deemed surplus to requirements at Newcastle but now a key player for table-topping Leicester City, Simpson has had quite the turnaround. The only blemish on his splendid season is his silly sending off away to Arsenal when the Foxes were 1-0 ahead but went on to lose 2-1 after his dismissal. 4. Bacary Sagna (Manchester City) – When he left Arsenal, Sagna appeared to be destined for a bit-part role behind Pablo Zabaleta but the Frenchman has established himself as Citys first choice right-back this season. Manuel Pellegrini has begun to rotate the pair in recent weeks but Sagnas all-round play makes him one of the stand out full-backs of the season. 5 5 Right-backs have evolved over time to almost become wing-backs in the mould of a Dani Alves, the Barcelona and Brazil ace. While the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea have trialled a number of full-backs this season, others have excelled and overtaken many of last season’s top performers. But who are these top performers?Click the arrow above, right, to see the five best performing right-backs in the Premier League this season.REVEALED: BEST LEFT BACKS THIS SEASON 2. Kyle Walker (Tottenham) – Walker has been brilliant for Tottenham this season and will hope it is enough to persuade Roy Hodgson to take two right-backs to the Euros rather than one and a versatile centre-back. Offensively he is very dangerous and although he is still capable of some suspect defending, so great is his pace that it gets him out of a lot of problems. 5 1. Hector Bellerin (Arsenal) – Another Barcelona academy prospect snatched from under their noses by Arsenal, Bellerin has become the outstanding right-back in the league. His has famously overtaken Theo Walcott as the fastest player in the Premier League and as a result is able to play almost as a wing-back while not shirking his defensive responsibilities.
